Congressman Byron Donalds, representing Florida's 19th district since 2021, has been vocal on various national issues through his social media platform. His recent tweets highlight his stance on drug policy, international security, and legislative priorities.

On February 4, 2025, Congressman Donalds reiterated his support for designating cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. He stated that this measure would enable the application of "stiffer penalties," revocation of visas, and freezing of assets. Referring to a past executive order by the President aimed at implementing such measures, he expressed commitment to working with Representative Chip Roy to ensure it becomes law. "Last Congress, I supported the designation of cartels as foreign terrorist orgs. This lets us apply stiffer penalties, revoke visas & freeze assets."

Later that day, Congressman Donalds drew attention to the opioid crisis in the United States. He compared the number of Americans projected to die from synthetic opioids this year to the capacity of Caesars Dome stadium hosting the Super Bowl. Emphasizing government efforts to address this epidemic through tariffs, he stated: "It holds the SAME amount of Americans that will die from synthetic opioids THIS YEAR ALONE."

In another tweet posted on February 4, 2025, Donalds highlighted a successful operation freeing seven Americans from captivity abroad. He noted that six individuals were released from Venezuela under Maduro's regime and one from Hamas terrorists in Gaza. The congressman attributed these successes to a strategy of "Peace through Strength," emphasizing ongoing efforts to prioritize American citizens' safety and return home: "ICYMI: This weekend 7 AMERICANS were freed from captivity."
