Congressman Byron Donalds, representing Florida's 19th district, recently addressed several significant topics through his social media platform. Donalds, who has been serving in Congress since 2021 after a tenure in the Florida House of Representatives, highlighted efforts and discussions surrounding environmental policy and monetary issues.

On February 12, Congressman Donalds shared his involvement in legislative actions concerning Big Cypress National Preserve. He noted that he led a bipartisan letter with 17 colleagues from Florida urging the Biden administration not to proceed with any wilderness designation at Big Cypress. This initiative was followed by "A hearing of @NatResources," as well as the introduction of concurrent House and Senate bills.

On February 13, Congressman Donalds joined members of the Financial Committee for a hearing with Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. The discussion centered on examining the Fed’s “Semi-Annual Monetary Policy Report.” During this session, "borrowing rates, government efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and risk premiums among other topics" were explored.

Also on February 13, Congressman Donalds raised concerns about Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) during another session with Chair Powell. He expressed that CBDC could provide "the federal government absolute control over your money" and posed questions regarding whether The Fed or its member banks are conducting studies into CBDC.
