Congressman Byron Donalds, who has represented Florida's 19th District in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently addressed several pressing issues through a series of tweets. These tweets cover topics ranging from fishery management and disaster relief funds to immigration policies.

On November 25, 2024, Congressman Donalds highlighted the efforts of anglers and fishery managers in rebuilding the Red Snapper stock. He noted that as the stock grows, so do discards. Donalds emphasized that even short Red Snapper seasons contribute positively to the economy and cautioned against any action by NOAA without updated count data. "Anglers & fishery managers have worked diligently to successfully rebuild Red Snapper stock... Any @NOAA action without updated Red Snapper count data would be precipitous & irresponsible."

Later on the same day, Congressman Donalds pointed out that there are significant amounts of frozen or un-obligated funds under FEMA's control. He expressed his support for reallocating these funds to FEMA's Disaster Relief Fund to ensure that communities in need receive aid promptly. "DID YOU KNOW: There are BILLIONS of dollars in frozen/un-obligated funds under FEMA control... I stand with my colleagues in proposing these funds are moved to FEMA's Disaster Relief Fund so communities in need can quickly receive aid."

On November 26, 2024, Congressman Donalds turned his attention to immigration policy. He underscored the value of legal immigration and criticized current practices where legal immigrants face deportation for not adhering to COVID-19 vaccination guidelines while illegal aliens do not face similar repercussions. "LEGAL IMMIGRATION is one of our greatest assets... This is wrong & this needs to change."
