Last week, marked a significant milestone for our House Republican Majority. Republicans have officially been in control of the U.S. House of Representatives for over 100 days. In this short time we have already delivered on many of the important promises that we made to the American people. House Republicans passed a rules package to create the most open, transparent and accountable House of Representatives to date, reopened the U.S. Capitol to the public, ended proxy voting, eliminated the military vaccine mandate, defunded Biden's army of 87,000 IRS agents, and created select committees to investigate strategic competition with the Chinese Communist Party and the weaponization of the federal government.

We also have blocked Biden's WOTUS rule, defended the right to life, stopped the Biden administration from selling oil from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve to China, nullified DC's pro-crime criminal code, terminated the COVID-19 National Emergency, and passed legislation to lower costs for American families by unleashing the might of American energy independence, and  provide parents with a bill of rights regarding their children's education. Our majority led by Speaker McCarthy has passed fifty-nine bills, five of which were sent to President Biden's desk and three of which have already been signed into law by President Biden. We have also held over 235 hearings, called-in over 235 officials from the Biden administration to testify in front of Congress, issued over 34 subpoenas and over 500 oversight letters.

My team specifically has been hard at work executing upon my policy agenda over the first 100 days of our majority. I have already introduced twenty-two total bills this Congress, got two amendments passed and have co-sponsored 128 bills. My agenda notably includes an eight-bill nuclear energy package, a three-bill water quality package to address the harmful algal blooms ravaging our region, and most importantly the Hurricane Tax Relief Act. My Hurricane Tax Relief Act will provide enhanced disaster loss tax relief to those affected by recent hurricanes such as Hurricane Ian and fix the qualified loss dilemma in Southwest Florida once and for all. I may have introduced 22 bills already but we're only 100 days into this majority and we're only just getting started.

A main theme of last week was holding the Biden administration accountable. I participated in three Congressional hearings this week to provide oversight of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Biden administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. I was allotted five minutes to question SEC Chairman Gary Gensler and pressed him on his agency's business-crushing ESG mandates. Simply put, Gensler and the SEC believe that since some large corporations voluntarily publish reports on their environmental impact, all companies should be regulated upon that standard. The problem is Congress never gave SEC the authority to do this and the only authority they can point to is an overly broad law from 90 years ago.

Furthermore, I was able to ask him about his time as Hillary Clinton's 2016 Presidential Campaign Chief Financial Officer. I asked Gensler a very easy question. If you were Hillary's campaign CFO, did you authorize the $1 million+ payment for the Steele Dossier? Gensler struggled to answer the question and ultimately claimed under oath that he was unaware of the payment's occurrence. How could a campaign CFO possibly be unaware of a $1 million+ purchase that was in-part paid by the Democratic National Committee?

Staying on the theme of accountability, last week I also introduced the Big Biden Blunder Act (BBB Act) to demand accountability for the Biden administration's botched withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021. The reality is, this debacle never should have happened and has only emboldened the worst fantasies of our hegemonic adversaries. We need answers and accountability now because Biden’s promise to Build Back Better has resulted in nothing more than a Big Biden Blunder.

As your Congressman, you have my commitment to work on your behalf and restore order and proper governance to The People's House.
