Congressman Byron Donalds, representing Florida's 19th district since 2021, recently expressed his views on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and introduced legislative initiatives aimed at improving government efficiency. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Donalds has been active in U.S. Congress following his tenure in the Florida House of Representatives.

On February 10, 2025, Congressman Donalds criticized the CFPB in a tweet stating, "The CFPB is highly-partisan. The CFPB is unaccountable. And it should no longer be a federal agency."

Later that day, he announced his bill titled "The Bipartisan Value Over Cost Act," highlighting its objectives: "My bill, The Bipartisan Value Over Cost Act will: Increase contractual flexibility & competition Provide acquisition stakeholder clarity Maximize modern tech procurement Help small business/Slash regulation This is commonsense. This is bipartisan. This is long overdue."

Additionally, Congressman Donalds addressed government efficiency by criticizing current standards and reintroducing legislation to address these issues. He tweeted, "It's time to Make Government Efficient Again. @USGSA's Lowest Overall Cost Alternative standard is burdensome, has resulted in higher costs, government waste & we need change. I've reintroduced the HR 1118 – 'Bipartisan Value Over Cost Act' to solve this problem once & for all."
