Congressman Byron Donalds, representing Florida's 19th district, recently shared several posts on social media reflecting on important issues. Born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1978, Donalds has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2021 after replacing Francis Rooney. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020 and holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.

On February 1, 2025, Congressman Donalds expressed his appreciation for Black American leaders by stating "I stand on the shoulders of giants." He acknowledged the contributions these leaders have made towards a better future for the nation and noted that their efforts paved the way for individuals like himself to achieve success.

On February 3, 2025, Donalds emphasized the importance of bipartisan cooperation regarding national security by sharing "National security should be BIPARTISAN." He referenced H.R. 856 – The Safe and Smart Federal Purchasing Act and provided links to further information about this legislative proposal.

Also on February 3, Congressman Donalds thanked his colleague Gerry Connolly for supporting a bill that had previously gained substantial approval but was blocked from a Senate vote. He highlighted its past success with remarks such as "PASSED @GOPoversight 43-0... Was Blocked from Senate vote." Donalds looks forward to advancing this legislation through Congress again.
