Exhibit Opening: Edison and Ford Editorial Cartoons: Then and Now Visitors can stroll through the Edison Caretaker's House and view a new artwork exhibit. The display features works by famous illustrators including Joseph Keppler, J.N. Ding Darling, and Clifford Berriman during a time of great change in America from 1879 to 1930. The exhibit showcases cartoon images of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Historically, the role of cartooning was to transfer information with differing viewpoints at a time when the majority of society was unable to read. With a combined total of 1,254 patents filed, no two figures of the twentieth century had more of an impact on the daily lives of the average American than Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Due to their fame, these two men became very popular with editorial cartoonists for many decades. The exhibit will be open through the end of December and is included with admission.
