Congressman Byron Donalds, representing Florida's 19th district, has taken to social media to express his concerns and initiatives regarding federal government response and civil rights compliance. Donalds has served in the U.S. Congress since 2021, following a term in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020.

On March 10, 2025, Donalds criticized the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for its handling of disaster relief following Hurricanes Milton and Helene. He stated that "When disaster strikes, the American people deserve a federal government that is responsive, supportive, and efficient. In the aftermath of Hurricanes Milton and Helene, this did not occur. FEMA employees were instructed to 'avoid homes advertising Trump' and flagrantly...".

In another post on the same day, Donalds expressed gratitude towards Congressman Vern Buchanan and other members of Congress for their involvement in addressing FEMA's actions. He wrote: "Thank you to @VernBuchanan for leading this important initiative and thank you to the 50+ members of Congress who joined us. Read our letter that resulted in FEMA corrective action below:".

Later that evening, Donalds commented on issues related to non-citizens supporting terrorism and compliance with civil rights legislation by educational institutions. He emphasized: "If you are a non-citizen & support terrorism or violate the civil rights of Americans, you will be DEPORTED. If you are a university that takes public money & you refuse to comply with Title 6 of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, your funding will be SLASHED. This is COMMON-SENSE."
