The annual CSN MS Geography Bee finals were held this week featuring nine qualifiers, three from each grade level.
In early January, preliminary rounds were held in the students’ social studies classes.
All MS students were participants at this stage.
The three students with the highest scores then moved onto the finals.
The nine finalists included sixth graders Anakin Morales, John Fontana and Steven Fontana. Representing the seventh grade was Charlotte Siepierski, Matthew Patskan and Harold Hoffman.
The eighth grade was represented by Conner Elliot, Sammy Saad and Jack Champion.
It was a terrific competition with questions from many categories that captured the spirit of geography.
When the Bee ended, Harold Hoffman established himself as the champion, Matthew Patskan was second and Jack Champion placed third.
