Rincones-Gómez Promoted to Provost, Executive VP of Academic Affairs at Hodges University

Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

 Hodges University president, Dr. John Meyer, announced the promotion of Dr. Rigoberto (Rigo) Rincones Gómez to Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs.

In this role, works very closely with the president in the formulation and implementation of academic and administrative policies. As the new Chief Academic Officer of Hodges 

University, he also provides leadership and overall accountability for our regional and programmatic accrediting bodies.

“Dr. Rincones Gómez has a proven track record in academic affairs leadership in Latin America and the United States,” said Dr. Meyer. “As the region’s first federally-designated 

Hispanic Serving Institution, he also brings a significant and unique understanding of our growing number of students that identify as Hispanic.”

Dr. Rincones Gómez joined Hodges University in 2021 as the Senior Vice President of Business Programs Operations and Institutional Effectiveness. He brings over 25 years of 

national and international leadership experience in Academic Affairs, student success, faculty excellence, and scholarly activity. He has been awarded with several honors and 

educational scholarships both in Latin America and the United States including the Golden Apple Award for his academic excellence and commitment. He is also nationally and 

internationally recognized for his collaborative approach and has published more than 50 refereed journal articles, designed and facilitated more than 100 workshops in more than 

10 countries, and co-authored several books, the most recent, Collaborative Evaluations: Step-by- Step (second edition).

He has worked at public and private institutions; Minority Serving Institutions (MSI), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI), Predominantly White Institutions (PWI), Historically Black 

Colleges and Universities (HBCU); from single to multi-campus institutions; in rural, suburban, and urban settings; and with enrollment ranging from 950 to 65,000 students.

As part of his educational background, Dr. Rincones has earned five degrees including a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Specialist and Master's Degrees in Project 

Management in Engineering receiving Summa Cum Laude Honors; a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership; and a Ph.D. in Evaluation, Measurement, and Research Design.
