Marco Island Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 11.
The City of Marco Island Fire Rescue Department (MIFR) is not selling T-shirts and never solicits any purchasing through text messaging or email.
Please ignore spam texts claiming to be selling T-shirts from MIFR. If you receive this text message, we urge you to NOT click on the included link as this may lead to spam websites with material harmful to one’s computer or device.
Please block the sender and report it as spam to your carrier.
