City of Marco Island issued the following announcement.
The City of Marco Island has been awarded the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement for 2020 from the National Procurement Institute. This award is earned by public and nonprofit agencies that demonstrate a commitment to procurement excellence. This annual program recognizes procurement organizations that embrace innovation, professionalism, productivity, leadership, and electronic procurement. This is the first time the City of Marco Island has earned this prestigious award.
The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award was established in 1995 and recognizes cities, counties and non-profit organizations nationwide. This year, only 69 cities throughout the country received the award. Recognition from the National Procurement Institute provides the City an opportunity to document the procurement process and be evaluated by an outside agency to ensure best practices.
