Edgerrin James Born August 1, 1978, in Immokalee
Born on August 1, 1978, in Immokalee, Florida, Edgerrin James is a former professional football player known for his career as a running back in the NFL. He played for 11 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals, and Seattle Seahawks. James was drafted fourth overall in the 1999 NFL Draft by the Colts and quickly made an impact, earning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. He became the Colts’ all-time leader in rushing yards, attempts, and touchdowns. James was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020. During his college years, he starred at the University of Miami, where he became one of the school’s top running backs. James’ roots in Immokalee shaped his journey, and he remains a significant figure in both his hometown and the NFL community.
