FORT MYERS, FLA. – The Foundation for the Restoration of America (FFROA) awarded a $2,000 scholarship to Cedarville University student Sebastian Mackliff Davalos.

FFROA, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is committed to educating the next generation of Americans about our nation’s founding principles and how they should continue to serve as the foundation for our future.

In 2022, Davalos started pursuing his degree in Mechanical Engineering at Cedarville University in Ohio.

He received a $2,000 scholarship after completing the Constitutional Study Program.

Davalos was born and raised in Latin America and said that this program shaped his understanding of founding principles of the United States.

“It is for the sake of upholding these principles of liberty and justice that so many have suffered and died across the span of the Revolutionary, Civil, and Second World Wars,” he said. “Moreover, it is for these principles that we, as Americans, must continue to fight to uphold the Constitution today.”

The Foundation’s Executive Director Christine Altenberger shared her excitement about the scholarship program.

“For the future of the country,” Altenberger said, “each generation must learn the true history and founding principles of the United States and why they are important and worthy of respect. As Ronald Reagan said, ‘Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children, our children’s children what it was once like to live in the United States where men were free.’”

“These students are better equipped to be our nation’s next generation of leaders now that they’ve been exposed to the values that founded this country centuries ago.”

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, students must have completed the “Constitution 101” and “Introduction to the Constitution” FREE online courses through Hillsdale College.
