Avow ‘Drive and Dine: A Drive Through Charity Adventure’ raises more than $26,000

The dining event supported nonprofit Avow services

Drive and Dine: A Drive Through Charity Adventure cruised through Avow’s Naples campus on October 28. An online auction of donated items raised $5,600. The event raises funds for the nonprofit healthcare organization that provides hospice care, non-hospice palliative care, Avow Kids and Center for Grief Support programs.

During the Drive and Dine event, 16 volunteers, 16 staff members and five board members served more than 100 meals in drive-up stations, where guests picked up portions of a full meal to enjoy at home. At each station, participants learned about Avow services.

During the event, Avow debuted the newly erected Nichols Pavilion at the Frances Georgeson Hospice House. This magnificent outdoor space provides a serene open-air location for patients, visitors and staff to enjoy year-round.

Event meals included salad and bread from Neapolitan Gourmet; steak, chicken or vegan/vegetarian entrées prepared in a mobile kitchen onsite from Shula’s Steakhouse, and desserts from Mikkelsen’s Pastry Shop. Sponsors included Home Care Home Base, Sentinel Technologies and PBS Construction.
