Harry Chapin Food Bank will be at Raphael Catholic Church in Lehigh Acres two hours earlier on Tuesday, September 27. The Fulfill mobile pantry distribution, located at 2514 Lee Blvd, was originally scheduled for 10 to 11:30 a.m. Due to the inclement weather expected tomorrow, the distribution is now scheduled from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Harry Chapin Food Bank is also regretfully canceling the distribution scheduled for Tuesday, September 27, at Boys and Girls Club in Immokalee. The distribution, located at 1155 Roberts Ave W, was scheduled to be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
“The safety of our drivers, volunteers, employees and those whom we serve, is our priority in the decision-making process,” stated Richard LeBer, President and CEO of the food bank. “The amount of coordination and logistics needed to hold our mobile pantry distributions requires that we make predictions early on regarding our ability to safely conduct them.”
The food bank’s senior leadership team will continue to closely monitor the situation and respond as necessary.
Harry Chapin Food Bank is prepared to provide food and water to those who have been impacted. Please visit our website harrychapinfoodbank.org for updates.
About Harry Chapin Food Bank
Harry Chapin Food Bank, a member of Feeding America, is the largest hunger-relief organization in Southwest Florida. The food bank rescues food that would otherwise go to waste and distributes it to children, families, and seniors who are hungry through a series of food distribution programs that feed more than a quarter of a million people each month.
Harry Chapin Food Bank distributed $71 million dollars worth of food in the fiscal year 2021. Through our food distribution programs, we supplied 47.6 million pounds of food and other grocery items, including 12.6 million pounds of fresh produce. The food is the equivalent of 39.6 million meals distributed to those who are hungry.
Our membership with Feeding America enables us to amplify our food and distribution efforts and bring in food from various retail and grocery stores, national food producers and distributors, and growers locally, nationally, and even internationally.
Harry Chapin Food Bank is proud to be named a Blueprint Partner by the Naples Children & Education Foundation (NCEF), the founding organization of the Naples Winter Wine Festival. Harry Chapin Food Bank is also a United Way partner agency. For more information or to make a gift, call 239.334.7007 or visit harrychapinfoodbank.org.
