On Friday, Aug. 26, CSN took the home field against football powerhouse Immokalee.
The Power of One
ONE second, ONE play, ONE point. Last Friday in the John N. Allen Family Stadium, the CSN football team played a game to remember.
Just as half-time approached, the Seahawk’s season opener against Immokalee High School was delayed due to lightning – players waited nearly two hours before stepping back on the field. CSN was down by six points with just 26 seconds left. Despite the pressure, the Seahawks managed to swiftly move the ball down the field with decisive passing plays, resulting in a spectacular last-minute touchdown pass to tie the game.
As the NDN reported, “In a defensive struggle, a big score at the end of the game gave the Seahawks a stunning victory…as Decker Crosby hit Greyson Kerscher with a 25-yard touchdown pass as time expired.” With grace under pressure, Brayden Cruz-Diaz nailed the extra point, securing ONE huge win for the Seahawks. Final score: 17-16.
