Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 7.

Senior finished second at the Jupiter Invitational highlighted by a school-record 65 in the third round.

After a record-breaking third round at the Jupiter Invitational earlier this week, FGCU senior Laura Edmonds (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Cypress Bay) was selected as the ASUN Women's Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. Edmonds posted a school-record single-round low score of 65 in the third round highlighted by a hole-in-one on No. 16.

Overall, her performance helped the Eagles take fourth in the event with a school-record 279 in the third round as part of the 54-hole total of 871.

"Lauri had a tremendous week for us. To have only eight bogies over the course of three rounds, 13 birdies, and a hole in one are incredible stats," said head coach Sarah Trew. "She's a big part of a record-setting day on Tuesday. Her fall has gotten off to a great start and I can't wait to see how she finishes."

Additionally, Edmonds' finished six-under-par which also tied the school record for Low Round vs. Par. She tied for the second-best low 54-hole total in program history with a three-round score of 206. For the Jupiter Invitational, her score of 65 was a new tournament record, while her hole-in-one was the first ever for the event.

Edmonds' hole-in-one was the first since Madeline Marck-Sherk carded one on March 31, 2019 on No. 16 of the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate. Madison Easterbrook posted one the year before (March 12, 2018) on No. 7 of the WKU Spring Break Shootout. She finished the tournament with the second-most birdies overall (13) and her ace served as an eagle as well. Tuesday's third round saw Edmonds tally five birdies, the eagle, and just one bogey for the six-under finish.

For the year, Edmonds holds a 70.83 scoring average through six rounds, three of which she's carded scores in the 60s. For her career, she continues to hold the FGCU program record for career scoring average (73.80) and holds the career record for rounds at par-or-better (22). She also ranks third all-time in finishing percentage (79.2%) and is sixth in career birdies (155).

The Eagles will next be in action on October 16-18, Saturday through Monday, at the Pat Bradley Invitational hosted by FIU in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
