Naples High School recently issued the following announcement.
Recently, the State approved the option for high performing school districts to convert up to two instructional days into student virtual learning days for the purpose of providing periodic opportunities for students to engage in virtual instruction (Senate Bill 1028). Virtual learning days build students’ abilities to engage in virtual instruction and ensure instructional continuity in the event of a school closure due to weather or other emergency. Additionally, virtual learning days hone important college preparation and digital career ready skills.
As a high performing district, CCPS received approval late last week to utilize this new state option and will convert two early release days to student virtual learning days. October 25, 2021, and December 1, 2021, will now be Virtual Learning Days instead of Early Release Days.
Teachers will plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction for these virtual learning days via Canvas and will be available for one (1) hour on each of these days to answer student questions and provide instructional support. Students will be expected to complete their assignments for the day in Canvas.
A reminder email with further information will be sent prior to each Virtual Learning Day.
