ESPNU to Carry Dunk City Reunion Game against Andy Enfield and USC

4

Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics  issued the following announcement on Sept. 29.

Additional non-conference games announced with Eagles opening season against Florida National on Tuesday, November 9

The Dunk City Reunion game between the FGCU men's basketball team and Andy Enfield's Southern California team will be televised on ESPNU as announced by ESPN on Tuesday. To facilitate the national broadcast, the tipoff for the Nov. 16 match-up will be adjusted to 6 PM (originally announced as 7 PM).

The game will come a day after FGCU officially inducts Coach Enfield and the 2013 men's basketball team into the FGCU Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the first-ever class. Reservations for the Monday night ceremony on Nov. 15 are currently open and fans can register HERE.

The 2013 Dunk City team captured the nation's attention and put FGCU in the spotlight as the first-ever No. 15 seed to reach the Sweet 16 following wins over Georgetown and San Diego State.

Currently, only season ticket holders, mini-plan purchasers, and group ticket purchasers (groups of 10-or-more) will have the ability to attend the game against USC. For more information, visit www.FGCUTickets.com or call the Alico Arena Ticket Office at 866-FGCU-TIX.

Additionally, three other non-conference games have been added to the 2021-22 schedule, while opponents and times have also been announced for the Hilton Garden Inn FGCU Invitational. Three previously announced ASUN match-ups have been moved to Tuesday nights compared to the originally released dates per an update to the league schedule.

The Eagles will officially begin the campaign on Tuesday, November 9 against Florida National in Alico Arena. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 PM as part of a doubleheader with the women's team.

FGCU has also added dates against Eckerd on Sunday, Nov. 21 (6 PM) and Mercer on Sunday, Dec. 19 (2 PM).

The Hilton Garden Inn FGCU Invitational will see the Green and Blue play Western Michigan on Friday, Nov. 26 (7 PM), Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, Nov. 27 (7 PM), and Purdue Fort Wayne on Sunday, Nov. 28 (6 PM). The two teams not playing FGCU each day will match up at 4:30 PM on Friday and Saturday, while the Western Michigan vs. Southeastern Louisiana game on Sunday will tip at 1:30 PM.

For previously announced ASUN contests, three games were moved from Thursday nights to Tuesday tips. This moved the league opener against North Florida at Alico Arena to Tuesday, January 4. Road games at Kennesaw State (now Tuesday, Jan. 11) and at Stetson (now Tuesday, Jan. 18) were also affected.

Two additional games may be announced at a later date. Additionally, the previously announced game at Georgia Southern has pushed back to another year.
