Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 20.
As the need for personal services for seniors grows across the country, so does the network of franchisees at Oasis Senior Advisors. In the past two months alone, the Bonita Springs, Florida-based company has added six new franchises. These include Carmel, Ind.; Southwest Dallas, Texas; Greenville, S.C.; Dayton, Ohio; Birmingham, Ala.; and Richmond, Va.
Carmel, Ind. franchise owner Darin Smith worked as a project manager for several companies and nonprofits around the country, helping improve their systems and the communities they serve, before returning to his hometown to raise his family and be closer to his brother and parents.
Smith said, “My work with non-profits has given me the resources to care for and give support to people transitioning to the next phase of their life. I have witnessed first-hand the many struggles of individuals and caregivers during such times of life transition. These experiences led me to Oasis Senior Advisors and are the reasons why I’m committed to being a trusted advisor.”
Southwest Dallas owner Brandy Clayton began her career in 2007 in healthcare as a registered nurse. Since 2009, Clayton has lived in Grand Prairie, Texas, which offers some of the best healthcare opportunities in the region. Her passion for the healthcare industry has allowed her to help care for and bring joy to individuals for the past 14 years. The needs of her clients are important to her, and she aims to build lasting impressions with everyone she works with.
“My mission as an Oasis Senior Advisor is to be a personal resource during the transition to senior living and to maintain the dignity of life that seniors deserve,” said Clayton.
Amanda Barbera, the new franchise owner in Greenville, S.C., also worked in healthcare prior to joining Oasis Senior Advisors. A registered nurse since 2015, she is familiar with the needs of the senior community. She has seen the difficulties seniors and their families face on a day-to-day basis and has always been passionate about helping people.
“My goal is to help seniors maintain a great quality of life by having their daily physical, mental and emotional needs met,” said Barbera. “I look forward to guiding seniors and families every step of the way to ensure loved ones are taken care of.”
Tina Timmons joins Oasis Senior Advisors after a 30-year career in social work in Dayton, Ohio. Her experience began as a long-term care ombudsman which then led to advocacy for seniors in a continuing care facility and in a hospice program. Her passion and concern for senior advocacy issues took a personal turn for Timmons in 2011, when her father was diagnosed with senile dementia and passed away six years later.
“I am excited to share my expertise, experiences and knowledge to provide support for seniors and their families as they make important decisions for themselves and their loved ones. I look forward to being a trusted liaison and part of the senior care journey,” Timmons said
TJ Halsey, of Birmingham, Ala., has worked in healthcare for the last 24 years, most recently at one of the largest healthcare payors in the country, serving as a territory manager covering over 30 counties. In 2013, at the age of 36, her husband passed away after fighting a three-year illness. It was during that time that Halsey learned the importance of caregiving, and just how much it can test faith, strength and resolve while juggling the roles of wife and mother.
“My experiences in the healthcare industry coupled with my personal journey caring for my grandparents as they aged, and my husband until he passed has driven me to assist people with unique care needs that are often unmet,” Halsey said. “Building a solid reputation of trust among families is integral while preserving the dignity and quality of life that their loved ones deserve.”
John Krug has lived in Richmond, Va. for nearly three decades. His journey to becoming a part of the Oasis Senior Advisors’ family hits at the heart of what Oasis is all about. While searching for the right assisted living home for his aging parents, he went through the process alone without the guidance of an advisor. Krug’s brother-in-law, however, used a senior placement service to assist his own family. The differences between their experiences allowed Krug to discover the valuable benefits a senior advisor can bring while searching for the right senior living solution.
Krug said, “I want to help seniors and their families through this journey and make it less stressful than what my family and I went through.”
