Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 20.
Partners, builders gathered to learn industry trends and share knowledge
Collaboration is key for Alair Homes, and for the first time in more than a year, building industry partners came together in person during the 2021 Alair Florida Regional Builder Conference. More than sixty Alair partners, project managers, and partner candidates traveled from all over the country to attend the conference, which was hosted by Alair Southwest Florida regional partner Glen Harris III, at the Hyatt House Naples/5th Avenue in Naples, Fla. on June 24 and 25.
“Our secret sauce is our collaboration,” Harris said. “Our ability to come together, train, grow and go forth to put those best practices into our luxury custom homes is what allows us to stay on the cutting edge of the custom home industry. The highlight of any event that we host is the opportunity to collaborate and learn from one another. There is no other custom home builder in our industry that does what we do in that regard. This connectedness and relationships with one another are who we are as a company.”
The Alair brand includes more than 115 luxury custom home builders across the United States and Canada. Harris’ Alair Southwest Florida region includes four offices: Alair Bonita Springs, Alair Old Naples, Alair Sanibel, and Alair South Tampa. These locally owned and operated offices were in attendance, along with numerous Alair owners and project managers from across the country.
During the conference, several sessions were hosted by industry experts, including Alair Sanibel client John Duffey. Duffey contracted with Alair Sanibel to build one of the largest homes on Fort Myers Beach, Fla. The topic of his presentation was The Client Perspective, and it gave the project managers and builders in the room the unique opportunity to see their work through a client’s eyes in a first-of-its-kind presentation at an Alair conference. The session included a follow-up panel to offer the project managers and builders the opportunity to ask questions about enhancing the client experience.
In addition to Duffey’s presentation, the conference featured informational sessions and workshops on topics including marketing, supply chains, new trends and more. Among the presenters were Jeff Smith, Alair High Country; Jeff Jenkins, Alair New Braunfels; and Peter and David Michelson, Alair Decatur. The four Alair partners shared their unique perspectives on the opportunities and constraints in the custom home building and renovation industry within their markets.
Also in attendance were more than 20 market and trade partners, including designers, architects and other building-industry professionals. The conference allowed Alair’s market partners to connect with builders from around the country—a unique opportunity as they are usually limited to meeting builders within their own region.
“It is important for our market partners to see the true power of Alair,” Harris said. “We are a very large organization, and our reach spreads far and wide. We want our market partners to be able to connect with builders around the United States, and our conference offers a unique opportunity to do so. The power of collaboration, especially these days, is incredibly important.”
In total, more than 85 industry experts, builders, project managers and market partners came together to learn, grow and put forth new practices and ideas into their own businesses.
