Community High School of Naples issued the following announcement.
Last year, our MS Mathletes were among the nearly 160,000 students worldwide to participate in the Math Olympiad program. We received our official results this summer, and are proud to share them now.
Melita D'Souza '25 was one of only 158 children to earn the prestigious Dr. George Lechner medallion, awarded for a perfect score of 25 points.
The gold pin is awarded to those in at least the 98th percentile. Megan D'Souza '25, with a score of 23 out of 25 points, was in this extraordinary group.
The silver pin is awarded to those in the 90th to 97th percentiles, including the following students: Howard Gleason '25 (20 out of 25 points), and Julian Miller '25 (20 out of 25 points).
Our Middle School team was named to the National High Achievement List for its score of 170 points. This team score is in the 80th to 89th percentile. The team score is the sum of the ten highest-scoring members.
Congratulations to these outstanding students, and their coach Mr. Calvin Colby. Good luck for the 2020-21 competition season.
