GREATER NAPLES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Hodges Connect to Host Resume and Interview Workshop Feb. 1

Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 27.

Professional Education & Training (PET) Hodges Connect will host a Resume and Interview Workshop from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1 on the Fort Myers Campus of Hodges University.

“You’ll learn what to include and what to exclude from your resume,” said Dr. Andrea Fortin, Director of Hodges Connect. “This is an interactive workshop where our experts will give you advice on resume writing, interviewing, and how to always come across as a true professional.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring their resumes to the workshop.

Registration is required. The fee is $25 for the public. The fee for Hodges students and Alumni is $10 with the promo code HAWKPRIDEFEB20.

The PET Hodges Connect Initiative will be announcing more workshops and classes that cover a variety of subjects. Within Business & Communication, participants can earn a Professional Effectiveness Certificate (PEC), which is a five-course program focused on soft skill development in technology, communication and business. 

The Professionalism in the Workplace Certificate is a short course to prepare students for internships, or for anyone looking for their first job. Workshops available include generational differences in the workplace, moving from peer to leader, and cultural competency. 

Some workshop tops include conflict resolution, body language basics, being a likeable boss, employee motivation, emotional intelligence, high-performance teams, safety in the workplace, time management, team building, customer service, organizational skills and transformational leadership.

In the area of health, PET Hodges Connect offers classes in Basic Life Support, Basic Life Support Refresher, and Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED.

Coming soon, courses offered will involve the area of technology, including AUTOCAD and ADOBE Software.
