State Representative Randy Maggard announced on May 14 his endorsement of Byron Donalds for Florida governor, joining the majority of House Republicans who have already expressed their support.
Maggard said, “I’m honored to endorse Byron Donalds for Governor. Byron is a proven conservative fighter who understands what it means to lead. During our time serving together in the Florida House, I watched as he stood strong for our values, fought for economic freedom, supported law enforcement, and never backed down from fighting the radical left. I know he will never stop working to keep Florida the best state in the nation.”
Maggard has built a reputation in the Florida House as a strong conservative voice focused on protecting taxpayers, supporting law enforcement, defending constitutional freedoms, and standing up for Florida families.
In addition to support from most members of the Republican caucus in the state House, Donalds has also received endorsements from President Trump, Charlie Kirk, Elon Musk, most sheriffs across Florida, 17 members of Congress representing Florida districts, U.S. House leadership figures and other prominent national conservatives.
Donalds’ recent endorsements come after what his campaign describes as a record-breaking $22 million fundraising haul during his first quarter as a candidate. According to his campaign statement, this amount is considered the largest ever raised by a non-incumbent gubernatorial candidate in state history. The campaign also reports that Donalds leads every primary and general election matchup so far.
