Byron Donalds remains the frontrunner in the race for Florida Governor, according to a poll released on Apr. 21. The survey by Echelon Insights indicates that Donalds leads potential Democratic opponents, with a six-point advantage over David Jolly at 49% to 43%, and a four-point lead over Jerry Demings at 48% to 44%.
The results reinforce Donalds’ position as the Republican front-runner and follow earlier polling that showed him ahead in the GOP primary for governor. The poll highlights continued momentum for his campaign heading into November.
Ryan Smith, Chief Strategist for the Byron Donalds for Governor Campaign, said, “Byron Donalds is the only candidate in this race who can defeat any Democrat, unite Republicans, and defend the Florida Dream for our families, seniors, and young people.” Smith also said, “Byron Donalds continues to lead because he’s focused on what matters: making Florida more affordable, safer, and stronger. The contrast in this race couldn’t be clearer, and Florida voters will vote for Byron Donalds and his positive vision to lead Florida forward in November.”
Donalds has secured several key endorsements during his campaign. These include President Donald J. Trump; Elon Musk; national conservative leaders; U.S. House Leadership; 27 top Florida sheriffs; 17 members of Florida’s congressional delegation; and three-quarters of the Republican caucus in the state House. This week he received an endorsement from Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders—the first sitting governor to support him.
Donalds’ campaign reports continued strength not only in polling but also fundraising efforts and conservative backing as he moves toward Election Day.
