Naples Standard publication area sees 31,005 H-2A petitions from employers during 2024

Employers based in the Naples Standard publication area submitted 31,005 H-2A petitions during 2024, according to data provided by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services via the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services via the H-2A Employer Data Hub.

Of these, 29,939 were approved (96.6%), while 1,066 were denied (3.4%).

The H-2A visa program allows U.S. employers to hire foreign workers for temporary or seasonal agricultural jobs when enough domestic workers are unavailable. Employers must demonstrate a short-term need and that hiring foreign workers will not negatively affect U.S. workers’ wages or working conditions. The Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting industry led the H-2A filings in Naples Standard publication area during 2024, with 30,946 petitions (99.8% of all submissions), and an approval rate of 96.6%. Meanwhile, the Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation industry was the second largest contributor, filing 37 petitions (0.1% of the total), with an approval rate of 100%.

The local employers with the most temporary agricultural visa requests during 2024 included Farm Op Kuzzens H2A, LLC, which filed 5,097 petitions with an approval rate of 99.8%, and Everglades Harvesting and Hauling with 2,972 petitions and an approval rate of 100%.

Compared to 2023, the publication area saw a 5.8% increase in the number of H-2A petitions during 2024.
