Former Naples High School standout Mackenzie Leiti played for the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles on Sunday, March 8, at 11 a.m., as they narrowly lost 5-4 to the Troy Trojans in an NCAA Division I softball game.
The matchup occurred at FGCU Softball Complex and marked the teams’ third meeting of the season. The Eagles had edged out Troy 3-2 in their previous contest on Saturday, March 7.
Leiti notched one hit in four at-bats during the game.
The Eagles are set to play their next game on Saturday, March 14, at 2 p.m. against the Queens Royals at The Stick Williams Dream Fields.
