Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, has publicly thanked several colleagues for supporting his bill, H.R. 4922 – “The D.C. CRIMES Act,” through a series of posts on September 16, 2025.

In one post at 19:48 UTC, Donalds expressed gratitude to Rep. Buddy Carter and stated: “Thank you @RepBuddyCarter for your support of my bill, H.R. 4922 – ‘The D.C. CRIMES Act.’ ‘The D.C. CRIMES Act’ ensures that the gains we’ve made are not rolled back by more Democratic, pro-crime policies. We must keep our nation’s capital safe, strong, and beautiful.”

A few minutes later at 19:53 UTC, he acknowledged Rep. Tim Burchett’s endorsement with the message: “Thank you @RepTimBurchett for your support of my bill, H.R. 4922 – ‘The D.C. CRIMES Act.’ The revolving door of justice ENDS TODAY. We are a nation of laws and it’s time to push back against soft on crime judges and DAs. D.C. should be the model for justice in America.”

At 19:59 UTC on the same day, Donalds also thanked Rep. Lauren Boebert and wrote: “Thank you @RepBoebert for your support of my bill, H.R. 4922 – ‘The D.C. CRIMES Act.’ Under failing leftist policies, Washington, D.C. has seen an epidemic of violence–THIS MUST END. My bill isn’t about politics, it’s about protecting lives. It’s time to MAKE D.C. SAFE AGAIN”

Byron Donalds has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Francis Rooney and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
