Congressman Byron Donalds, representing Florida’s 19th district since 2021, recently shared his views on several legislative matters through a series of tweets. His posts addressed topics ranging from small business loans to educational reform and inquiries into the health disclosures of President Joe Biden.
On June 6, 2025, Congressman Donalds expressed opposition to using taxpayer funds for small business loans to non-citizens. He stated: “The American people SHOULD NOT be forced to fund the small business loans of non-citizens. This is common sense.” He announced that the House GOP had passed H.R. 2966 – “The American Entrepreneurs First Act,” aiming to make this position law, while criticizing Democrats for opposing it.
In another tweet on the same day, Donalds addressed issues within the public school system, advocating for parental choice in education. He wrote: “For too-long, children have fallen victim to our ineffective public school system.” He mentioned his collaboration with prominent figures such as President Joe Biden and Senator Ted Cruz to promote educational freedom across America.
Later that day, Congressman Donalds raised concerns about Dr. Kevin O’Connor’s handling of information regarding President Joe Biden’s health. He questioned: “What did he know and when did he know it?” Noting that O’Connor has been subpoenaed by GOP oversight for a deposition, Donalds emphasized the need for transparency in this matter.
Byron Donalds has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Francis Rooney and previously held a position in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and now residing in Naples, he holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
