Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on his official Twitter account addressing trucking regulations, agricultural standards, and a cabinet appointment.
On March 24, 2026, Donalds wrote: “This is EXACTLY why I’m leading the federal crackdown on illegal alien truckers: HR 5177 – The WEIGH Act. If you can’t speak English. If you can’t read a road sign. If your CDL has irregularities. You have NO BUSINESS driving a truck in our country. The time for safety is NOW.” (March 24, 2026).
Later that day, he congratulated Senator Mullin on his new role as Secretary of Homeland Security: “Congratulations to my friend @SenMullin on officially being sworn in as our nation’s next @DHSgov Secretary” (March 24, 2026).
Donalds also encouraged support for domestic agriculture with another post: “Born here. Raised here. Harvested here. Processed here. THIS is the American standard. Buy ‘PRODUCT OF USA’ labeled produce and support our hardworking farmers and ranchers across the Sunshine State and the nation.” (March 24, 2026).
Byron Donalds has served in Congress since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. He was born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1978 and currently resides in Naples at age 44. Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
