Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of messages on his official Twitter account addressing constituents and national audiences.
On May 10, Donalds extended holiday greetings with a message recognizing mothers: “Wishing a very Happy Mother’s Day to the amazing mothers in SWFL, across the Sunshine State, and nationwide! Thank you for the strength, sacrifice, and unwavering love that hold our families and communities together.”
The following day, May 11, he acknowledged law enforcement during National Police Week: “This National Police Week, and every day, we honor our brave men and women in blue who keep our communities safe and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. We stand with you, we support you, and we thank you.”
On May 12, Donalds commented on legislative procedure by supporting another public figure’s stance: “.@BasedMikeLee is absolutely correct. The time for filibuster reform is NOW.”
Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th District since 2021 after succeeding Francis Rooney. Before joining Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples at age 44, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
