Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on his official social media account on March 17, 2026, addressing issues related to national identity, road safety regulations for truck drivers, and legislative priorities.

In one post dated March 17, 2026, Donalds wrote: “We will not surrender our freedoms. Sharia has NO place in America.”

Shortly after, he addressed concerns about commercial driver qualifications: “If you can’t speak English. If you can’t read a road sign. If your CDL has irregularities. You have NO BUSINESS driving a truck in our country. Thank you to @SecDuffy and @USDOT for taking action to remove 200,000 unqualified foreign drivers from our roadways.” This statement references recent actions by the U.S. Department of Transportation regarding commercial driver licensing.

Later that morning, Donalds outlined policy positions on voting requirements and gender-related legislation: “All voters must show voter-ID All voters must show proof of citizenship No men in women’s sports No transgender surgeries for children This is common sense. This is not controversial. PASS THE SAVE AMERICA ACT NOW”

Byron Donalds has served as the representative for Florida’s 19th congressional district since 2021 after succeeding Francis Rooney. He previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020 and was born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1978 before relocating to Naples. Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
