Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on social media this week regarding border security, law enforcement recruitment, and aerospace policy.
On September 2, 2025, Donalds highlighted interest in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) careers: “This year, 130K+ people have applied to be @ICEgov agents. Last week alone, 3K+ applicants attended an ICE job fair in TX. Thank you to these patriots for volunteering to defend the homeland & Make America Safe Again. Interested in joining? The following day, Donalds addressed national security concerns related to foreign criminal organizations at the southern border: “It’s a new day in America. Cartel activity will not be tolerated and we will not hesitate to use lethal force against these foreign terrorist organizations. Thank you @DeptofDefense for taking action to eliminate this threat and Make America Safe Again.” This statement followed recent federal actions targeting cartel operations.
Later that same day, Donalds expressed appreciation for state-level collaboration on aerospace issues: “Thank you to the members of the Florida Legislative Aerospace Team who joined us today in our nation’s capital. Together, we discussed critical issues regarding aerospace policy in the Sunshine State.”
Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th district since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. He was born in Brooklyn in 1978 and resides in Naples. Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
