Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted upcoming milestones for the American space program through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On July 31, 2025, Donalds announced the imminent launch of astronauts to the International Space Station and future plans for lunar missions: “TOMORROW: We will send a crew of astronauts to the @Space_Station. NEXT YEAR: The moon. We are Making the American Space Program DOMINANT AGAIN “
The following day, August 1, he emphasized Florida’s role in these efforts: “We are fighting to Make the American Space Program Dominant Again and Florida is LEADING THE WAY “
Later that same day, Donalds expressed support for NASA and SpaceX Crew 11 and extended well wishes to the astronauts involved: “Go @NASA. Go @SpaceX Crew 11. May God protect astronauts Zena Cardman, Michael Fincke, Kimiya Yui, and Oleg Platonov on their journey to the @Space_Station.”
Byron Donalds has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after previously holding office in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
