Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed his constituents and the broader public through a series of social media posts between August 25 and August 26, 2025.

On August 25, Donalds used his official account to notify students and families in Southwest Florida about opportunities related to service academies and technology competitions. In his post he wrote: “ATTENTION SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

My office is accepting Service Academy applications for high school students due 10/10

My office is hosting an app challenge for middle & high school students. Submissions are due 10/30 & the winning app will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol https://t.co/8DRGTZyvh1” (August 25, 2025).

Later that day, Donalds addressed concerns over crime in Washington D.C., calling for legislative action. He stated: “These are not political talking points. THIS IS REAL LIFE.

We are taking our capital back and we are Making DC Safe Again.

On August 26, Donalds commemorated American servicemembers who lost their lives during the withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. He posted: “Four years ago today, thirteen American servicemembers were lost due to Joe Biden’s strategic incompetence and botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Byron Donalds has served as a member of Congress since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1978, he currently resides in Naples. Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
