Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his legislative efforts on social media, including the introduction of H.R. 4494 – “The Flood Insurance Relief Act.”
On July 22, 2025, Donalds wrote, “With the introduction of H.R. 4494 – ‘The Flood Insurance Relief Act,’ I’ve now introduced 18 pieces of legislation this Congress. I’m working hard on your behalf to introduce meaningful legislation that will benefit our SW Florida community, the Sunshine State, and the nation.”
Later that same day, he emphasized collaboration with Senator Rick Scott and support for President Biden’s agenda by stating, “The American people gave us a mandate to implement @POTUS’s America First Agenda. @SenRickScott & I are working in lock-step to make this reality. From SWFL to DC, we are fighting hard to deliver for the people of Florida & are united in our mission to Make America Great Again.”
On July 23, Donalds shared a media report regarding his flood insurance bill: “.@GCNNow: ‘Florida lawmakers are working to protect all of us from flood impacts with a new flood bill, set to provide tax relief for both the National Flood Insurance Program and for private insurers across the Sunshine State.’ ‘The ‘Flood Insurance Relief Act’ is sponsored by”.
Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th district since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021. Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
