Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on July 31, 2025, regarding his involvement with NASA and SpaceX activities at Cape Canaveral.
Donalds began the day by attending a mission briefing for an upcoming space launch. On July 31, he posted: “Live from the @NASAKennedy mission briefing ahead of today’s @NASA/@SpaceX Crew 11 mission to @Space_Station “.
Later that day, Donalds visited Cape Canaveral’s SLC-37 launch pad alongside representatives from Space Force and SpaceX. He highlighted concerns about the facility’s current status: “Cape Canaveral SLC-37 is a launch pad that was historically used for heavy-lift launches. It now sits idle due to bureaucracy. I joined @SpaceForceDoD & @SpaceX for a site visit of SLC-37 as @SenAshleyMoody & I fight to revive the facility & ensure continued US space dominance.”
In a subsequent post on July 31, Donalds expressed optimism about America’s future in space exploration under President Trump’s administration: “It’s 2025 & under President Trump, we have entered the Golden Age of America. We are fighting to ensure a renaissance in American space dominance, the best is yet to come & Florida is LEADING THE WAY. Thank you @SecDuffy for your commitment to @NASAKennedy & the Sunshine State.”
Byron Donalds has served as U.S. Representative for Florida’s 19th District since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
