Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media account on February 25, 2026, to share views on crime legislation and foreign policy, as well as to make a broader statement about the country’s current era.
Donalds began by addressing criminal justice reform in Washington D.C., stating in a post from February 25: “WE’RE MAKING CRIME ILLEGAL AGAIN IN DC. If you’re 18-24 y/o, you’re an adult. If you commit crimes as an adult, you should treated as one. THIS IS COMMON SENSE. But in DC, 18-24 y/o criminals can be sentenced as juveniles. My bill, HR 4922 ‘DC CRIMES Act’ ends this loophole.”
In another tweet posted the same day at 03:47 UTC, Donalds criticized what he described as a policy of appeasement under President Biden’s administration: “Appeasement causes unprecedented chaos and instability. Appeasement results-in Americans left behind & embassies evacuated. Appeasement emboldens our adversaries. Appeasement FAILED under Biden. @POTUS’s ‘Peace Through Strength’ is WORKING and our world is better off for it.”
Later that afternoon, Donalds offered a more optimistic message about the country’s direction: “The Golden Age of America is HERE”
Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th District since replacing Francis Rooney in Congress in 2021 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and now residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
