Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on social media between November 7 and November 8, 2025, addressing border security, Senate procedures, and recent legislative actions.
On November 7, Donalds posted about recent immigration enforcement efforts: “Six months of ZERO illegal crossings Millions of illegals deported Millions more deportations to go I’m proud to have helped pass the largest border security package in a generation & to bolster the deportation of illegal aliens. Together, we’re Making America Safe Again.”
Later that evening, he advocated for a significant change in Senate rules by posting: “TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER” on November 8.
In another post from November 8, Donalds criticized Senate Democrats for their actions during a government shutdown: “ICYMI: Today, Senate Democrats voted AGAIN to BLOCK the bill that ensures essential federal workers like law enforcement, air traffic controllers, and the military are paid during the shutdown. Democrats want to inflict maximum suffering on hardworking Americans. This is sick.”
Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th district since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021. Before his time in Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
