U.S. Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district and resides in Naples, used his social media platform on December 1, 2025, to highlight recent enforcement actions targeting undocumented immigrants and commercial driver’s license (CDL) holders in Southwest Florida.
In a post at 19:14 UTC, Donalds cited Department of Homeland Security figures and stated: “Per @DHSgov, since Jan 21st, nearly 1,000 criminal illegal aliens have been arrested by @ICEgov in SWFL including 888 arrests in Naples alone. I’m proud to have voted to pass the largest border security package in a generation & to bolster the mass deportation of illegal aliens.”
Later that evening at 20:56 UTC, Donalds reported enforcement actions concerning commercial drivers: “7000 CDLs revoked 16000 CDLs under review 4000 providers placed on notice 3000 providers removed from FMCSA registry We need to codify these wins INTO LAW. I’m leading the federal crackdown on illegal alien truckers (HR 5177––WEIGH Act) to keep American motorists safe.”
At 22:38 UTC the same day, Donalds thanked a government official for safety measures and reiterated his legislative efforts: “Thank you @SecDuffy for taking decisive action to keep American drivers safe. Now it’s up to Congress to codify the Trump admin’s actions INTO LAW. Under my bill (HR 5177–WEIGH Act) all weigh stations along interstates must enforce @POTUS’s EO to review CDLs for irregularities.”
Byron Donalds has served as U.S. Representative for Florida’s 19th District since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 through 2020. Born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1978, he now lives in Naples. Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
