Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on August 28, 2025, highlighting achievements in higher education and law enforcement activity in Florida.
In his first post at 11:00 a.m. UTC, Donalds congratulated the University of Florida for its national recognition. He wrote, “Congratulations @UF on being named the #5 public university in America & among the top schools for return on investment. UF also offers the lowest tuition in America while having excellent student outcomes, including high job placement rates & competitive salaries for new grads.” The University of Florida is known for its affordable tuition and strong employment statistics among graduates.
Later that morning at 12:50 p.m. UTC, Donalds addressed a criminal case involving an undocumented immigrant. He stated, “Denis Miranda is a 20 y/o illegal alien that was arrested in Polk County on charges of: Battery on a law enforcement officer Resisting with violence Resisting without violence False imprisonment Burglary of an occupied structure Deport this criminal back to Nicaragua.”
At 1:04 p.m. UTC, Donalds turned attention to advancements in aerospace technology by two Florida institutions he attended. He posted, “Congratulations to both of my former schools on working together to create next generation advances in aerospace technology. The world is changing, and together with @NASA, @FAMU_1887 and @FloridaState are leading the way to develop aircraft systems that run on liquid hydrogen.”
Byron Donalds has served as U.S. Congressman for Florida’s 19th District since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds graduated from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University with bachelor’s degrees.
