Congressman Byron Donalds, who has represented Florida’s 19th district since 2021, recently took to social media to share updates on various matters. Born in Brooklyn and currently residing in Naples, Donalds is a seasoned politician with experience in both the U.S. Congress and the Florida House of Representatives.
On June 17, 2025, Congressman Donalds expressed his well-wishes for Secretary Noem’s health. In his message, he stated: “Wishing @Sec_Noem a speedy recovery! Erika and I pray for her health as she undergoes treatment.”
The following day, on June 18, 2025, Donalds highlighted the importance of smaller financial institutions in the economy. He remarked: “Small, mid-sized & community banks are vital economic engines for businesses across our nation & are critical to restoring Main Street America.” He also introduced HR. 2835 which aims to increase the consolidated asset threshold of Bank Holding Companies from $3 billion to $25 billion.
In another post on June 18, Congressman Donalds announced progress on his legislative efforts with H.R. 2835 – “The Small Bank Holding Company Relief Act.” He shared: “ICYMI: My bill…was advanced out of @FinancialCmte with a vote of 30-20.” This legislation seeks to enhance capital access for small businesses and banks and is set to be considered by the House.
