Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, recently highlighted his legislative efforts on social media regarding crime in Washington, D.C.

On August 15, 2025, Donalds posted a quote from Rob Carson about H.R. 4922, also known as “The DC CRIMES Act,” and former President Trump’s efforts to address public safety in the nation’s capital: “.@RobCarson on H.R. 4922 – ‘The DC CRIMES Act’ and President Trump’s effort to Make DC Safe Again: ‘We’re tired of the nonsense.'”

Later that same day, Donalds shared a statement attributed to NEWSMAX: “.@NEWSMAX: ‘Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., said Friday that he recently reintroduced a crime bill [HR 4922 – The DC CRIMES Act] in the House that would assert congressional control over Washington, D.C., to bring law and order back to the nation’s capital.'”

On August 17, Donalds commented further on these developments with another post referencing recent events near Capitol Hill: “The cavalry has arrived in Washington. Spotted earlier today blocks from Capitol Hill. We are Making DC Safe Again “

Byron Donalds has served as U.S. Representative for Florida’s 19th district since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
