Congressman Byron Donalds, representing Florida’s 19th district since 2021, shared recent developments and achievements through a series of tweets. Born in Brooklyn in 1978, Donalds has a background in state politics, having served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020 before his current role in Congress.

On May 6, Donalds announced that “In January, my bill, HR 5103 ‘The FISHES Act’ was signed into law by POTUS.” The legislation aims to expedite fishery disaster relief for coastal communities. He expressed gratitude to Florida shellfish farmers who participated in the celebration of this legislative success.

Later that day, he noted advancements in healthcare services within Southwest Florida. According to his tweet at 17:33 UTC, “The Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) at @NCHFlorida (NCH) is bringing next-generation musculoskeletal healthcare to SWFL.” His team joined community members for a site visit to the Naples facility.

On May 7, Congressman Donalds highlighted efforts towards economic growth under Secretary Scott Bessent. He tweeted that “Under @SecScottBessent, we are expanding economic opportunity for all Americans and building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous America.” He thanked Secretary Bessent for attending “The Annual Testimony of the Secretary of the Treasury” at the Financial Committee meeting.

Byron Donalds holds degrees from Florida A&M University and Florida State University. He resides in Naples with his family.
