Congressman Byron Donalds, who has been representing Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, shared several updates via social media on recent legislative activities and investigations. Donalds, who was born in Brooklyn in 1978 and now resides in Naples, has been active in both federal and state politics since his tenure in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020.
On June 16, Congressman Donalds reported that the House had passed HR. 4 – “The Rescissions Act,” with a vote tally of 214-212. According to his post, “HR. 4 codifies the first round of DOGE cuts by slashing $9.4B in woke foreign aid & leftist media.” He noted that no Democrats voted for this measure aimed at reducing what he described as government waste.
In another post on the same day, Donalds highlighted the passage of S. 331 – “The HALT Fentanyl Act,” which received a vote of 321-104. He stated that “S. 331 permanently classifies illicit Fentanyl-related substances as Schedule 1 drugs & ensures law enforcement has the tools needed to stop its flow into the US.” The congressman described this legislative move as “COMMON SENSE.”
Later on June 16, Donalds addressed an investigation involving Neville Singham, whom he identified as a Chinese agent reportedly funding unrest related to the LA Riots. He mentioned that @GOPoversight is TAKING ACTION and is seeking answers regarding Singham’s financial ties with several organizations including the Party for Socialism & Liberation, People’s Forum, and ANSWER Coalition.
Byron Donalds graduated from Florida A&M University and later from Florida State University with degrees in business science.
