Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on August 20, 2025, highlighting local preparedness for hurricane season, immigration enforcement efforts, and his meetings with federal judges in Southwest Florida.
In one post on August 20, Donalds emphasized local readiness for natural disasters: “Lee County stands ready and prepared for when the next storm hits our Southwest Florida community. As we progress through Hurricane Season ‘25, I met with local officials at Lee County’s Emergency Operations Center and toured recent expansions to their state-of-the-art facility.”
Addressing border security later that day, Donalds stated: “The American people granted us a mandate to secure the border, deport illegal aliens, & MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN. Under @POTUS, we are doing just that. I met with @ICEgov officials in Fort Myers to discuss their critical operations within our SWFL community & the Sunshine State.”
Donalds also commented on the judiciary: “Rogue federal judges have weaponized their benches for politics. This must end. Thank you to US District Court Magistrate Judges Nicholas Mizell & Kyle Dudek for your hard work on behalf of our SWFL community. It was great to meet with you & your clerks in Downtown Fort Myers.”
Byron Donalds has served as a U.S. Congressman since 2021 after replacing Francis Rooney and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
