On June 6, 2025, Congressman Donalds commemorated the anniversary of a pivotal moment in history by stating “Today is the 81st anniversary of D-Day–the largest amphibious invasion in history. On this day, US, UK, and Canadian forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, and changed the course of WWII. Thank you to the courageous heroes who risked everything to save our world from tyranny.”

In another tweet posted later that day at 14:17 UTC, Donalds addressed the role of artificial intelligence in modern society. He emphasized its permanence and energy demands by asserting “AI is revolutionizing our world. AI is here to stay. AI is energy-intensive. And nuclear energy is the way that we ensure American dominance in the AI space.”

Further expanding on energy solutions for national security purposes, Donalds tweeted about an executive order concerning nuclear technology at 15:13 UTC. He explained “Executive Order: ‘Deploying Advanced Nuclear Reactor Technologies for National Security’ Description: ‘What this executive order will do is speed-up the approval and adoption process for specialized nuclear reactors at [defense and AI installations]. It also involves @ENERGY.”

Byron Donalds was born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1978 and currently resides in Naples. He graduated from Florida A&M University with a BS degree and again from Florida State University with another BS degree in 2002.
