On September 11, 2025, Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets commemorating individual acts of heroism during the September 11 attacks.
In his first post at 15:28 UTC, Donalds wrote: “Let’s Roll”
Todd Beamer was a husband, a father, a Fresno State grad, and an Account Manager, but twenty-four years ago today, he became an American hero.
Flight 93 was hijacked and heading straight for our nation’s capital when Todd staged a revolt.
On Todd’s signal,”
At 16:09 UTC on the same day, Donalds highlighted another individual with the tweet: “Welles Crowther was a twenty-four year-old Equities Trader, a volunteer firefighter, a Boston College grad, and a former college lacrosse player who worked in the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
Twenty-four years ago, he stepped into action.
In his trademark red bandana,”
Later that afternoon at 17:23 UTC, Donalds shared: “Benjamin Keefe Clark was a lifelong Brooklynite, a @USMC chef, a Gulf War veteran, and a graduate of the famed Le Cordon Bleu French culinary school.
As the Executive Chef of @FiduciaryTrust’s South Tower offices, he was responsible for planning meals and feeding more than 250″
Byron Donalds has served as U.S. Representative for Florida’s 19th District since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021. Before his tenure in Congress began in January of that year, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
The individuals mentioned by Donalds—Todd Beamer aboard Flight 93; Welles Crowther at the World Trade Center; and Benjamin Keefe Clark at Fiduciary Trust—are remembered each year for their actions during one of America’s most significant national tragedies.
