Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on January 6, 2026, to advocate for the passage of the SAVE Act and address concerns related to voter fraud and election security.
In a post published at 16:10 UTC, Donalds stated, “The SAVE Act ensures ONLY US CITIZENS can vote in US elections. LAST YEAR: @HouseGOP PASSED The SAVE Act, but Senate Dems blocked us. 271 DAYS AGO: @HouseGOP PASSED The SAVE Act again, but it’s held-up in the Senate. I agree with @SenMikeLee and @POTUS—PASS THE SAVE ACT NOW!” He referenced previous House GOP efforts to pass the legislation and called for immediate action from the Senate.
Later that day at 16:30 UTC, Donalds posted a follow-up message outlining his priorities regarding election integrity: “1—Identify, prosecute, and eliminate this voter fraud. 2—Pass ‘The SAVE Act.’ 3—Secure our elections now.”
On the same day at 22:33 UTC, Donalds expressed condolences over the death of Congressman Doug LaMalfa: “I am devastated to learn of the passing of my friend and colleague @RepLaMalfa. Erika and I pray for his wife Jill, his four children, and the entire LaMalfa family during this time of unimaginable grief. May God rest his soul.”
Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Francis Rooney. Prior to his current role in Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
